Our cottages are surrounded by the Derrynasaggart mountain range with the high peaks of Purple, Tomies, Sheehy and Sheehy Mor to the west, Torc, Mangerton and Stoompa to the south and Crohane and the Paps of Dana to the east.

Beyond Purple to the west are the MacGiddicuddy Reeks, with Ireland's highest mountain, Carrauntoohill, with the second and third highest, Beenkerragh and Cahir on either side.

The dividing line between these two great mountain ranges is the Gap of Dunloe and the Black Valley.

Highly recommended is Mangerton, where just below the summit is the Devil's Punchbowl lake and the spectcular view down into the Horse's Glen and its three lakes.
